SUMMARY:ARPS Coference 2023
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce two scholarship opportunities to attend the ARPS 2023 conference and present a poster (https://arpsconference.com.au/). \n  \nThe Australasian Radiation Protection Society (ARPS) was founded in 1975 and has more than 250 members engaged in radiation protection activities. Members are engaged in a variety of activities designed to ensure the safe use of ionising and non-ionising radiation across the incredibly diverse field of radiation protection\, which includes medicine\, pure and applied science\, industry\, and mining. The theme of the 2023 conference is “Expanding the Scope of Radiation Protection’’. The aim of the conference is to foster discussions across a broad range of radiation protection aspects and emerging fields\, including training the next generation of radiation professionals\, showcasing new technologies and applications\, and sharing the importance of effective communication and stakeholder involvement. The Organising Committee is eager to curate a full and extensive program that includes three days of scientific sessions infused with intensive exhibitor and sponsor engagement. \n  \nOne scholarship is available to all student members and one scholarship is available to all members. The scholarships include the full cost of registration including welcome reception\, conference dinner and a complimentary exclusive tour to Sea World’s Shark Bay. \n  \nInterested members are invited to complete an application form (attached) and return to the SPERA Secretary (michaela.froehlich@anu.edu.au) by Friday 4 August. The SPERA Committee will assess applications and successful applicants will be notified by Friday 11 August.

SUMMARY:SPERA Conference 2022
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to be part of the 16th biennialconference of the South Pacific EnvironmentalRadioactivity Association (SPERA)\n  \nSPERA 2022 will take place from Monday 28 November to Wednesday 30 November with an optional RACI Workshop held on Thursday 01 December. \nThe conference is being held at Haere-roa Event Centre\, Christchurch New Zealand. \nThe program will cover all aspects of environmental radioactivity\, ranging from advances in methods\, new research in radioecology and emergency preparedness and in contaminated sites as well as applications of radiotracers in environmental processes. We aim to have as many oral presentations as possible in the various sessions and a large selection of posters that shall boost debate and discussion amongst attendees. This will be complemented by several exciting talks by invited speakers. Our four themes are Instruments & Method Development\, Contaminated Sites – impact assessment & Emergency preparedness\, Radioecology and Radiotracers in environmental processes. \nOur keynote speakers will address our theme Connecting People\, Developing Solutions for a Changing environment and will provide opportunities to meet the experts\, listen\, debate and network with your colleagues. Of course we also have a fabulous Conference Dinner planned which will be held at the International Antarctic Centre. \n  \nMore information is available on the conference website at www.spera2022.nz
